Overview of role

Business Data Analytics is a critical function at eero, reporting to the Head of Business Operations. This technical role, which falls under the Business Intelligence Engineering job family, will be responsible for analyzing large sets of business data and building automated dashboards and reporting. They will work closely with the Sales, Marketing, Finance, BI, Manufacturing, and several other Operations teams to develop robust end-to-end analytical workflows and data-informed analyses, ultimately supporting successful business growth, operational efficiency, and sales acceleration. As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting scalable, best-in-class business intelligence solutions and processes. This is a highly visible role in which you will have a high degree of autonomy and outsized impact.

We’re looking for someone who:

  1. Is both technically excellent in SQL, as well as strategically sound so they can partner with the business teams well.
  2. Has extensive experience working directly with business teams, and most specifically, go-to-market (GTM) teams, such as Sales, Marketing, and Partner Success.
  3. Is highly analytical and process-driven, can assist with strategic planning, drive decisions forward, execute on high-impact projects, and lead through influence.
  4. Understands numbers intuitively: if the numbers don’t add up, you spot it first. If you find yourself or others repeating work, you automate it.
  5. Demonstrates ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and operational challenges.
  6. Has experience managing stakeholders at all levels.
  7. Enjoys rolling up their sleeves in a fast-paced startup environment and getting things done.

Key job responsibilities

What you will do:

  1. Analyze large business and sales data sets to identify patterns, understand drivers, and generate insights to accelerate sales and drive operational efficiencies.
  2. Write queries to extract data and insights combining datasets within eero with Amazon datasets and/or publicly available datasets.
  3. Design, build, and maintain automated reporting, dashboards, and produce value-added data analyses to enable executive decision making or a change in the status quo.
  4. Build the Business Intelligence roadmap: you will spot the highest priority business intelligence initiatives and improvement areas, and plan to address those in the short, medium, and long term.
  5. Enable data access, literacy, and self-sufficiency: As you work with various teams at eero, you will gather a sense of their business and data-related needs, and craft scalable solutions to address them.
  6. Work closely with our Finance and BI teams on consolidating key data sources in one place, building the foundation to enable efficient data analysis across several business teams.
  7. Drive weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reporting to leadership across eero and Amazon.
  8. Leverage Amazon systems and tools to effectively work with, process, and analyze large datasets.
  9. Deliver comprehensive, written strategy documents considering different types of data and inputs across a broad range of stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
- Experience with AWS technologies.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs.
- Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership.
