As a Certified PharmacyTechnician, you will play an essential role in empowering our customers to take theirmedications correctly and achieve better overall wellness.#everydaybetter Key job responsibilitiesCore Responsibilities:● Tasks performed may include billing, data entry, obtaining prescriptions and refills,processing denials, transfers and inbound/outbound calls.● Assist the pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board ofpharmacy● Communicate with patients, providers, pharmacies and insurance companies bytelephone and email to obtain prescriptions, take refill requests and resolve billingissues/questions.● Enter patients and order information into the pharmacy systems. Establish andmaintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients.● Process and submit prescription insurance claims for our customers along withresolving insurance problems and patient issues that may result from incorrect orincomplete information, therapy changes and pharmacy or shipping errors.● Keeping patients informed on the status of their prescription or out of pocket costs intheir upcoming shipments.● Perform account adjustments, method of payment, banking and unbilledreconciliations● Verify insurance data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to billingincluding analyzing and verifying dates of service, quantity, day supply and billedamounts.● Research missing and incomplete information resulting in billing errors and denials● Complete prior authorizations with attention to detail and accuracy, prior to sendingto the prescriber or Cover My Meds● Transfer calls, tickets, claims, or shipments to the pharmacist when necessary● Accept customer and prescription information required to process new and refillprescriptions, including refill authorization from doctor offices where permitted bystate law● Collect, organize, and evaluate patient information, while maintaining confidentialityof all information received.● Receive and transcribe English-language prescriptions sent electronically fromdoctors’ offices and external pharmacies.● Communicate with providers to obtain new written English-language prescriptions orrefill requests and verify that the information is complete and accurate.● Ensure compliance with all company procedures, federal/state laws, rules andregulations● Increasing knowledge and understanding of commonly prescribed medications andtheir uses.● Collaborate with other members of the pharmacy team to maintain customersatisfaction● Perform other tasks assigned while working in a fast paced environment● Work a flexible schedule - shifts will possibly start and end outside of normal businesshours including weekends BASIC QUALIFICATIONS● Active and unrestricted in-State Board of Pharmacy License (This includes PharmacyTechnician, Trainee, and Assistant Licenses). Additional licenses may be required ifdomicile state differs from state of employment.● National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA)● High school or equivalent diploma● 6+ months of experience working with computer and web based tools● Experience multitasking with phone and computer skills
